Job summary

Northbridge Financial Corporation in Halifax is seeking a Senior Claims Service Representative to deliver exceptional client service, manage high call volumes, and support the FNOL process with professionalism.

You will mentor junior team members, coordinate financial and office tasks, ensure data quality, and partner with Claims Adjusters to resolve inquiries from insureds and brokers.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of administrative support experience.
  • Experience with financial tasks (accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice review, reconciliation).
  • Fluently bilingual English/French is a definite asset.

What it's like to be a Northbridge Senior Claims Service Representative

As a Senior Claims Service Representative, you play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our customers and Claims team. Acting as the first point of contact for many clients, you manage incoming calls and shared inbox inquiries, supporting the First Notice of Loss (FNOL) process with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. You provide administrative and operational support to Claims Adjusters, maintain data quality, coordinate financial and office services activities, and help ensure claims are handled smoothly from start to finish. In addition, you serve as a mentor to Claims Service Representatives, support training initiatives, and contribute to specialized projects that drive continuous improvement across the department.

  • Staying organized and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicating with empathy and professionalism during potentially stressful customer situations
  • Collaborating with team members and supporting the development of others through mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Paying close attention to detail when working with claims information, financial transactions, and documentation

And you have:

  • Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience
  • Completed or working towards CIP designation
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative support experience, with preference candidates in the property and casualty industry
  • Experience with financial support tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice review, and reconciliation activities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, along with strong keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Fluently bilingual (English / French) is a definite asset
