Job summary

Placements24 currently seeks a Senior Catering Chef to lead a culinary team in Kimberley. You will create and execute exceptional menus for events, supervise kitchen operations, and mentor junior chefs to deliver high-quality dining experiences.

You will ensure strict food safety standards (HACCP), manage costs, and collaborate with catering management to achieve outstanding results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years as a chef, with at least 2 years in a senior/supervisory role within catering or high-volume kitchens.
• Proven expertise in various cooking techniques and culinary styles.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire kitchen staff.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP).
• Excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and appealing menus for events, considering seasonality and client preferences.
• Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation for consistency and quality.
• Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Control food costs through inventory management, waste reduction, and supplier negotiations.
