Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team in Alberta. The HCA will collaborate with nurses to provide safe, thorough basic care per residents’ plans, including bathing, transfers, feeding, and daily activities.

A PCA/HCA certificate and active CLHA registration are preferred, with English fluency required. The role supports residents with mobility, meals, and social/recreational activities, ensuring comfort, dignity, and independence.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or a related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent education.
• Active registration with the CLHA (Alberta) is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents to promote comfort per the patient care plan.
• Assist with transfers using mechanical aids and transfer belts.
• Feed residents during meals and assist with nourishment.
• Provide routine treatments under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel within the facility and accompany to activities.
