Job summary

AgeCare Dawson in Chestermere, AB, is seeking a Health Care Aide to join our care team. Under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse, you will assist residents with daily living activities and basic care while ensuring comfort and safety.

This role involves transfers, meals, routine treatments, and friendly engagement in recreational activities. Applicants should have a PCA/HCA certificate, be CLHA-registered, and possess good English communication.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers using ceiling lifts, mechanical lifts, and transfer belts.
• Feed/assist with feeding during meals and nourishments.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision of a staff nurse.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility and to dining rooms.
• Accompany residents to social and therapy activities and to and from the beauty parlor, physiotherapy, and recreation activities.
