Senior Business Systems Analyst

Location: Toronto

The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for conducting systems process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align IT solutions with business initiatives on highly complex projects or within specific business areas.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps.
• Experience in customer relationship management.
• Strong problem-solving skills for day-to-day issues.
• Ability to resolve routine conflicts and escalate when necessary.
• Knowledge of Agile practices and experience applying them.
• Experience with production support and delivery.
• Mentoring support staff.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Experience supporting clients and departments.
• Ability to develop process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to translate complex technical ideas into business concepts.
• Experience with business analysis documentation, including WBS.
• Ability to write clear acceptance criteria and specifications, especially related to underwriting documents.
• Understanding of SDLC and ITIL methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Optimal Trace, and willingness to learn new tools.
• Knowledge of relevant information systems (e.g., Quadient, Capri, PMS, C Base, TSO, Duck Creek, Workbench, Dynamics 365).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian P&C insurance sector.
• CIP designation is an asset.
