What is the opportunity?

This is a key IT role within the Wealth Management Technology & Solutions, Data Services Canada team. You will serve as a Business System Analyst and SME for the Global Wealth Management Data Hub, providing leadership in data analysis functions such as data mapping, profiling, quality, ETL requirements, metadata management, data provenance, and lineage. Collaborating with IT and Business Partners, you will assess, research, and analyze data needs to support business insights and strategy.

What will you do?

1. Work with IT and Business Partners to understand data's business meaning, providing analysis and requirements to ensure data design aligns with standards.
2. Develop and maintain knowledge of upstream data sources and platforms, offering expert advice to application development teams.
3. Elicit, analyze, and interpret business and data requirements to develop solutions, including data mapping and system specifications.
4. Contribute to process standardization and create scalable solutions for the Wealth Data Hub.
5. Guide colleagues and clients on data management practices to ensure compliance.
6. Lead complex meetings for technical design, decision making, and strategic planning.
7. Monitor work processes and client satisfaction, recommending improvements.
8. Engage with data managers and owners to implement and enhance data governance and quality policies, aligning with RBC standards.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• Strong understanding of Wealth Management and Trading lifecycle, with excellent data analysis skills and experience with Wealth Management applications.
• Proficient in SQL for database querying and data analysis, experienced with relational or in-memory databases.
• Ability to work independently, think critically, manage deadlines, and multitask across projects.
• Experience creating technical specifications for development solutions, including batch, API, or Kafka notifications.
• Excellent relationship, communication, and leadership skills in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Experience managing large projects with multiple applications and third-party interfaces.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, and tools like Confluence and Jira.
• Proven leadership in managing small teams with planning, budgeting, and coordination skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of large databases, schema design, and enterprise reporting tools like Tableau, especially with Hadoop/HDFS sources.
• Creative, collaborative team player with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Experience working with asset management, wealth management, brokerage, and derivatives across various asset classes.
