Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Analyze application issues, data discrepancies, and business workflows; recommend solutions to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders throughout all phases of the SDLC.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data to support complex operational decisions.
  • Develop and maintain technical and support documentation for assigned applications.
  • Monitor application performance and escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure information and reporting are accurate and delivered timely.
  • Support compliance with change management policies and controls.
  • Identify risks and help mitigate them through incident/problem management.

Reporting to the Global Application Manager, this role plays a critical part in ensuring our financial application ecosystem effectively supports the needs of the business. As a Senior Business Applications Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing and implementing application enhancements, and ensuring the ongoing stability and effectiveness of critical financial systems. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing expertise in application support, issue resolution, system optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position primarily supports our Finance and Accounting functions, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a solid understanding of financial business processes. Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting financial applications such as SAP Concur, BlackLine, SAP Ariba, HighRadius, or similar enterprise financial systems. Job Description: What You'll Do:
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Analyze application issues, data discrepancies, and business workflows, recommending effective solutions to improve performance and user experience.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders throughout all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through implementation and operational support.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data to support complex operational and business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and support documentation for assigned applications.
  • Monitor application performance and provide timely communication and escalation of issues when required.
  • Ensure information and reporting are accurate, professional, and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Support compliance with Finning's Change Management policies, processes, and controls.
  • Ensure specifications, procedures, and support documentation are understood by reviewers, approvers, and end users.
  • Identify, communicate, and help mitigate risks discovered through incident and problem management activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders while demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Take a lead role in application sustainment, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, identifying opportunities for innovation and process enhancement.
What We're Looking For:
  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business systems analysis, application support, or a related IT function within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting Finance and Accounting business functions is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise financial applications such as SAP Concur, BlackLine, SAP Ariba, HighRadius, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems such as Infor M3, SAP, or comparable enterprise solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of systems analysis methodologies, application support processes, and SDLC practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand complex business processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Solid understanding of the capabilities, opportunities, and limitations of information technology in supporting business objectives.
