Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Identity Data) based in Canada. You will design and maintain the identity infrastructure enabling secure onboarding, authentication, and verification across products.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend experience designing, developing, and launching scalable systems using Python or Kotlin.
• Experience building and operating highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Strong software design and architectural skills for significant features and components using simple, extensible approaches.
• Proven ability to write clean, reliable, well-tested code that is easy to maintain and extend.
• Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable backend systems for customer onboarding, identity verification, and authentication.
• Own and deliver quarterly team objectives, translating priorities into actionable engineering plans.
• Lead engineers through complex technical challenges, guiding delivery lifecycle.
• Architect and implement highly available, low-latency distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to balance priorities and risks.
• Define technical approaches for major features and components with emphasis on maintainability.
• Identify and address technical debt and operational challenges to improve processes.
• Monitor service health and performance, establish metrics, and support on-call duties.
