Job summary

Justworks in Toronto, Canada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own large-scale projects from discovery through launch, delivering measurable customer impact. You will collaborate with product and design teams to craft scalable solutions and drive robust testing, monitoring and deployment practices.

You will improve performance and reliability of complex systems while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional hands-on experience
• Proficiency with SQL
• Mastery of modern server-side languages; Golang is a plus
• Experience working with designers and product managers
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS
• Experience mentoring other engineers and acting as a force multiplier

Responsibilities

• Independently own large-scoped projects from discovery through launch with outcomes-focused impact
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve customer challenges
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems
• Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing and mentorship
• Add capabilities to high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure
• Enhance testing, monitoring and continuous deployment infrastructure
• Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure
