Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Team Lead at University Health Network West Park in Toronto. You will lead security staff, manage shift schedules, and ensure policy compliance across the site, delivering effective protection for patients and staff.

The role operates on a 3rd shift (1800-0600), with an 88-hour averaging overtime arrangement. The hourly rate is $21.80 CAD, with benefits and uniforms, license reimbursement, and paid time off; UOF/MOAB certifications are required or supported

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario security license required.
• First Aid & CPR Level C required.
• 1 year healthcare supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to train and motivate staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Certifications in UOF/MOAB or enrollment in Paladin program.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training.
• Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out for each shift.
• Ensures site staff adhere to Paladin and site security policies.
• Plans and implements shift work schedules.
• Ensures all Security Guards receive mandatory training.
• Motivates staff and issues commendations.
• Disciplines staff when necessary and documents actions.
• Performs security audits and documents incidents.
• Provides proactive and reactive security patrols.
• Communicates concerns to Client Service Manager.

Position: Security Team Lead

Site: University Health Network - West Park

Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Pay Rate: $21.80/hr.

Key responsibilities:

• Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
• Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
• Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and site-specific security policies and procedures
• Plans and implements shift work schedules
• Ensures all Security Guards have received the mandatory training
• Motivates staff and issues commendations
• Disciplines staff when necessary and ensures proper documentation is passed onto head office
• Performs security audits
• Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
• Provide proactive and reactive security patrols.
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Client Service Manager

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step Tuberculosis skin test
• Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare supervisory experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure.
• Proven ability to train, direct, and motivate staff.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
