Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Casual Healthcare Security Guard to support multiple sites including Northumberland Hills Hospital and surrounding facilities. The role involves conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and enforcing site policies while maintaining safety and de-escalation of conflicts.

Ideal candidates will have First Aid/CPR Level C, a valid Ontario Security License, and the ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Qualifications

• Authorized to legally work in Canada.
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certificate.
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must provide pre-requisites or complete UoF/MOAB training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior security patrols in all weather.
• Respond calmly to incidents and de-escalate confrontations.
• Investigate incidents and file reports accurately.
• Enforce site bylaws and Paladin policies.
• Liaise with on-site staff and management on security needs.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Sit or stand for up to 12 hours per shift.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position: Casual Healthcare Security Guard

Site: Northumberland Hills Hospital, Loyalist College-Port Hope, Campbellford Memorial Hospital, North Hastings Hospital

Hours: Various, Day or Night(07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00)

Payrate: $18.35-$22.50/hour

Site Description: Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, our client delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Acute services include emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical care and palliative care. Post-acute specialty services (PASS) include restorative care and rehabilitation.

Note: Applicants must have flexible availability to work two to three 12-hour shifts per week and be comfortable cross training at multiple facilities.

Job Description:

• Conduct proactive and reactive interior and exterior security patrols, including in inclement weather
• Respond to incidents, remain calm in emergencies, and use effective conflict management and verbal de-escalation techniques
• Investigate routine incidents and complete clear,accurateincident and end-of-shift reports
• Enforce parking, smoking, site by-laws, and all client and Paladin policies and procedures
• Liaise with Paladin management and on-site staff to meet operational requirements
• Operate independently and as part of a team to complete assigned duties
• Sit or stand for up to 12 hours per shift
• Additional Duties as Assigned

Job Requirements:

• Authorized to legally work in Canada
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven for an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of minimum two COVID-19 Vaccines
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• 6+ months of customer service experience preferred
• Provide pre-requisite certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of AggressiveBehaviour(MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin'sUoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: TheUoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite,however Paladin will coverall ofthe costs of the training with a6 monthcommitment to the position/availability
• Complete mandatory onboarding and training with Paladin in Kingston, with ongoing training & development as directed by Paladin Management or the client
