Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Mobile Patrol Security Guard for full-time night shifts (2300–0700) in Canada. The role covers patrols, incident response, access control, and coordination with emergency services. Must hold a valid Ontario G license; training and certifications available through Paladin.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of building security experience is an asset.
• Must read, write, speak, and comprehend English clearly.
• Physically able to perform duties including lift up to 20 lbs.
• Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, Fire Code knowledge.
• Must be able to de-escalate and report incidents accurately.
• Team-focused but able to work independently when needed.
• Completion of required training courses.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and report criminal activity or hazards.
• Answer service requests from clients and the public.
• Inspect and test security and life safety devices.
• Provide training and support to guards for events and coverage.
• Lock/unlock gates and doors; secure premises after hours.
• Conduct patrols and document results with tour software.
• Address policy breaches and communicate with dispatch and emergency services.
• Monitor access control and entry of staff and visitors.
• Investigate alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Provide first aid as required and log all activities.

Mobile Patrol Security Guard(Paladin Security Group Ltd.)

Position: Full-Time Mobile Patrol Security Guard

Overtime: Employment Standards Act

Shift: Monday - Friday (2300 - 0700)

Posting Date: September 15, 2026

Internal Closing Date: September 19, 2026

External Closing Date: September 25th, 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations.
• Respond to calls for service from internal/external clients and members of the public.
• Inspect and test Security/Life Safety devices.
• Provide training and support to facility, ad-hoc, and event coverage guards.
• Lock and unlock gates and doors; ensure properties are secured after hours.
• Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.
• Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior); address policy breaches and note facility concerns.
• Unlock and lock doors and offices; provide access control.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
• De-escalate crises and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedics.
• Write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day-to-day activities.
• Provide first aid and medical response as required.
• Log in/out of key, radio, and pager audits.
• Ensure buildings are secured after hours.
• Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.
• Respond to all types of occurrences; contribute to team effort as needed.
• Deter and enforce prohibited acts (loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, cycling)

Requirements:

• Minimum two (2) years of building security experience an asset.
• Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Physical and mental ability to fulfil the duties and requirements of the assigned work (indoor/outdoor, long periods standing, lifting up to 20 lbs, running short distances).
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and Ontario Fire Code.
• Responding to incidents and alarm response as the “first responder”. Must be able to de-escalate, communicate with dispatch and report all occurrences accurately.
• Must be comfortable working as part of a team but also working alone.
• Completion of all standard required training courses (see Training Requirements).
• Valid Class G (or higher) Ontario Driver's License and 3 Year Clean Drivers Abstract)
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
