Job summary

Paladin Security seeks a Security Supervisor at St. Joseph Healthcare (King Campus) in Hamilton. You will lead interior/exterior patrols, coordinate with managers, and respond to codes, alarms, and security incidents to ensure a safe hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB, or willingness to complete Paladin's training program prior to onboarding.
• Ability to maintain a clean-shaven face to satisfy N95 respirator fit testing requirements.
• Up-to-date Immunization Record (MMR, Varicella, double COVID-19 vaccination, and 2-step TB skin test).
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas to protect property and safety.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0700 - 1500

Site Overview

St. Joseph Healthcare (King Campus) in Hamilton provides specialized, patient-centered care. Security personnel play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff across this dynamic healthcare facility.

What You'll Be Doing

Patrol interior and exterior areas of the campus to protect property and maintain safety for all occupants.

Work closely with the Security Manager and team leaders to plan and implement security programs across campus.

Respond directly to emergency codes, panic alarms, and personal security alarms activated by staff.

Manage key control and access control systems in line with hospital policies, including issuing personal alarms.

Monitor security systems, CCTV cameras, and Graphic User Interfaces to investigate incidents, theft, vandalism, or accidents.

Provide safety escorts for hospital staff to their vehicles during evening and night shifts.

Assist patients, visitors, staff, volunteers, contractors, and emergency response partners.

Conduct regular ground inspections, manage off-hours emergency maintenance follow-ups, and complete accurate incident logs and reports.

Maintain and care for site equipment, including two-way radios, pagers, keys, and identification badges.

Must Haves

Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's training program prior to onboarding.

Ability to maintain a clean-shaven face to satisfy N95 respirator fit testing requirements.

Up-to-date Immunization Record (MMR, Varicella, double COVID-19 vaccination, and 2-step TB skin test).

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves

One year of previous experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or a related field.

Diploma or degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigation, Criminology, or Border Services.
