Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a dependable Commissionaire in Scarborough to provide access control, patrols and CCTV monitoring for client sites.

You will stand for long periods, perform daily logs, coordinate with client staff, and assist visitors while maintaining a neat appearance and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Ontario Security Guard License is mandatory.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform patrols.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control and protect client property; escort visitors as needed.
• Monitor CCTV equipment and respond to alarms.
• Perform shipping/receiving duties and inspections.
• Maintain professional relations with staff, visitors, and clients.
• Uphold appearance and deportment standards; communicate clearly.
• Complete daily logs and written reports as required.
• Stand or patrol on feet for extended periods; lift ~11 lbs as needed.
• Occasionally cover other locations as backfill; other duties as required.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required
  
• Monitoring of CCTV equipment
  
• Completing shipping and receiving duties, including shipment audits and trailer inspections.
  
• Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and the client
  
• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment
  
• Responding to alarms and utilization of alarm panels
  
• Providing assistance to employees, clients, and visitors
  
• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
• Standing or being on your feet for certain lengths of time
  
• Being able to bend down and lift a minimum of 11 Lbs. to apply pinlocks to fifth wheel pins
  
• Foot Patrols on a regular basis during shift
  
• Occasionally be required to cover other Estee Lauder Locations as a Backfill
• Other duties as may be required by the client or Site Supervisor

• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
  
• Able to use Microsoft Programs such as Word Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

• Job Type: Full Time
• Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.57
• Hours of work: Monday -Friday 1000-1800
• Location: 161 Commander Blvd, Scarborough, Ontario, M1S3K9
