Job summary

Kandor Management Corporation is seeking a vigilant Security Monitor for Ontario sites. You will monitor CCTV, access control, fire and life safety systems, dispatch security personnel to alarms and incidents, and maintain continuous contact with on-site teams.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence, 1–2 years of security experience, strong English communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Qualifications

What You'll Do

Security Monitoring & Dispatch

• Monitor CCTV, access control, fire and life safety systems, and other security platforms.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch security personnel to alarms, incidents, service requests, and emergencies.
• Monitor radio communications and maintain continuous contact with on-site security personnel.
• Escalate significant incidents to supervisors, site management, property management, or emergency services when required.

Emergency Response

• Coordinate emergency responses in accordance with site emergency procedures.
• Monitor building conditions and respond to security, safety, and operational concerns.
• Remain calm under pressure while making informed decisions during critical situations.
• Assist with after-hours operations, special events, and additional security initiatives.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate daily activity logs, dispatch records, incident reports, and key control documentation.
• Document all security-related incidents with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ensure accurate communication during shift handovers.

Access Control & Customer Service

• Support access control, contractor access, and visitor management.
• Provide professional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Work collaboratively with security staff, property management, tenants, and emergency responders.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
• Minimum 1–2 years of security experience, preferably in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), control room, commercial, retail, or mixed-use environment.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Excellent multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
