Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Operations Center Operator for University Health Network West Park. You will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare command centre, lead the security platoon, assign roles, and coordinate the deployment of security staff, while liaising with clinical teams and visitors.

The role requires strong English communication, professional conduct, and prior dispatch or command centre experience. Training in UOF/MOAB is provided with a 6-month commitment.

Qualifications

• Proof of double Covid Vaccination.
• Immunization record for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and TB tests 1 and 2.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification (WSIB Approved).
• Willing to complete N95 mask fit testing during training.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare command centre as SOC Operator.
• Orient guards to their respective roles and supervise the security platoon.
• Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff.
• Monitor and operate command centre systems including access control, CCTV, fire and life safety.
• Make emergency overhead announcements.
• Collaborate with the Security Coordinator on special projects.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Answer telephones and dispatch calls from the command centre.
• Handle dispatch duties including incident call taking.
• Liaise with security staff, Paladin Operations Centre and assist with deployment.
• Liaise with visitors, clients and staff.
• Manage issuance and return of facility keys and ID/Access cards.
• Issue Visitor and Contractor badges.

Averaging Agreement : Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Pay Rate: $25.03/ Hr

Job Description:

In this key role, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare command centre. Your role will include the following:

• SOC Operator is a shift lead role, responsible for the oversight of the security platoon
• Responsible for orienting guards to their respective roles
• Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff
• Monitor and operate numerous command centre systems including, access control, CCTV, fire and life safety.
• Make emergency overhead announcements
• Collaborate with the Security Coordinator on special projects
• Assist in training new staff
• Answer Telephones and dispatch calls from the command centre
• Handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.
• Liaise with security staff, Paladin Operations Centre and assist with deployment
• Liaise with visitors, clients and staff
• Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/Access cards
• Issue Visitor and Contractor badges

Requirements:

• Proof of double Covid Vaccination

• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification (WSIB Approved)
• Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Experience working in a command or dispatch centre would be an asset
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with clinical staff, and the general public while conveying professionalism and authority at all times.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
