Job summary

Paladin Security Group is seeking a Security Guard for a temporary full-time role at the McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton. The position requires exterior patrols, reporting risks, and providing courteous assistance to staff and visitors.

A valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification, UOF/MOAB certifications or willingness to complete Paladin training, and Canada work authorization are required. The role involves logging activities, supporting investigations, and following health and safety

Qualifications

• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Minimum 6 months security experience.
• Valid UOF and MOAB certifications or willingness to complete Paladin's training.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Physically capable to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and work outdoors in all weather.
• Must have a reliable vehicle.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform exterior patrols and maintain situational awareness across assigned areas.
• Identify, document, and report security risks, safety hazards, and suspicious activities.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to site employees, clients, and visitors.
• Maintain clear communication with on-site teams and log system activity and communications.
• Complete clear incident reports and patrol logs in a timely manner.

• Pay Rate: $19/hour
• Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement

Site Overview

McMaster Innovation Park is a premier research and business campus in Hamilton, bringing together leading technology companies, entrepreneurs, and academic partners. This modern hub features state-of-the-art office, laboratory, and event spaces focused on research, technology, and commercial growth.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform exterior patrols and maintain situational awareness across all assigned areas.

Must Haves

• Valid Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications (or willingness to complete Paladin's training program prior to onboarding).
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Physical capability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A reliable vehicle.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
