Job summary

Paladin Security seeks a part-time Security Guard at Huron College to monitor overnight campus areas, verify IDs, and enforce access control. You will patrol facilities, document incidents, and respond to emergencies, providing basic First Aid when needed.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C certification.
• College or University education.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's free training program prior to onboarding (requires a 6-month commitment).

Responsibilities

• Check in students returning to residence and verify student ID cards.
• Implement access control measures and ensure campus rules and regulations are followed.
• Perform safety patrols across campus facilities and maintain written duty logs and incident reports.
• Respond to safety concerns, emergency situations, and provide First Aid assistance when required.
• Engage respectfully with students, visitors, and campus staff to support a safe, positive environment.
• Enforce client policies while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Position Overview

Title: Security Guard

Employment Type: Part-Time

Pay Rate:

0 – 30 days: $19.00/hr

30 – 60 days: $20.00/hr

60 – 90 days: $21.00/hr

90+ days: $22.50/hr

Site: Huron College

Schedule: Saturday – Sunday, 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly)

Site Overview

Huron College is a post-secondary educational campus featuring academic buildings, student residences, administrative offices, and community spaces. During overnight hours, the campus requires dedicated security support to maintain safety, perform access control, and protect college property.

What You'll Be Doing

Check in students returning to residence and verify student ID cards.

Implement access control measures and ensure campus rules and regulations are followed.

Perform safety patrols across campus facilities and maintain written duty logs and incident reports.

Respond to safety concerns, emergency situations, and provide First Aid assistance when required.

Must Haves

Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C certification (from a WSIB-approved vendor).

College or University education.

Fluent in spoken and written English.

Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's free training program prior to onboarding (requires a 6-month commitment).

Nice-to-Haves

Previous experience in security, customer service, or a related field.

Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
