Paladin Security is hiring a Security Guard for North York General Hospital Finch. You will patrol hospital premises, monitor cameras, control access, and assist in emergencies. High customer service standards are expected as you greet patients and staff, direct them, and enforce safety policies.

The role requires English fluency, a valid G Class license, and legal eligibility to work in Canada. Certifications in UOF/MOAB or willingness to complete Paladin training are required.

Qualifications

• Must have valid G Class driver’s license and legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Fluency in English (oral and written) required.
• Up-to-date immunization records and TB test as per site policy.
• Able to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing.
• Valid Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB certifications, or willing to complete Paladin’s pre-employment training.

Responsabilités

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises including hallways, patient areas, entrances, exits and parking lots.
• Monitor security cameras and alarms; respond to safety concerns promptly.
• Manage access control; ensure restricted areas are limited to authorized personnel.
• Respond to site emergencies, fire alarms and evacuations; assist staff and visitors as needed.
• Greet patients, visitors and staff; provide directions and enforce hospital policies.
• Write accurate incident reports and daily activity logs; de-escalate tense situations.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and local emergency services to maintain safety.

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement after 88 hours

What You'll Be Doing

Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including hallways, patient areas, entrances, exits, and parking lots.

Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to suspicious activity or safety concerns.

Manage access control points, ensuring restricted areas are limited to authorized personnel.

Respond quickly during site emergencies, fire alarms, and evacuations, providing support to hospital staff and visitors.

Greet patients, visitors, and staff, offering clear directions and helping maintain hospital policies.

De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts with a calm and professional demeanor.

Write accurate incident reports and complete daily logs of site activities.

Collaborate with hospital staff and local emergency services to maintain a safe environment.

Must Haves

• Valid G Class driver's license
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Up-to-date immunization records (Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, and a 2-step TB skin test)
• Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing
• Valid Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications, or willingness to complete Paladin's pre-employment training prior to onboarding

Nice-to-Haves

• One year of prior security or law enforcement experience
• Diploma or degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services
