Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Guard at Seneca Polytechnic, King Campus. This full-time role offers hourly pay between $20.40 and $21.93 and includes varied shifts across 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, including weekends. You will patrol campus buildings and grounds, respond to incidents, and support Residence and events safety.

Ideal candidates have First Aid/ CPR, legal work status in Canada, and MOAB/UOF training or Paladin’s program. Full benefits and ongoing career development are provided.

Qualifications

• Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• UOF/MOAB certification or Paladin UOF/MOAB training prior onboarding.
• Must not be a current Seneca student at the King Campus.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive patrols across academic buildings, campus grounds, and surrounding trails.
• Respond to medical and safety incidents promptly, empathetically, and professionally.
• Support safety operations for student residences and campus community events.
• Liaise with municipal parks authorities and provincial bodies to maintain trail, fishing, and forestry safety.
• Work safely in proximity to supervised farm animals, domestic pets, and local wildlife.
• Manage access control, parking operations, and lost and found items.
• Collaborate regularly with campus staff and local emergency responders.

Schedule: Various hours (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Overview

Seneca Polytechnic’s King Campus combines natural surroundings with active academic programs in health sciences, animal care, and community services. The site offers a close community feel with expansive grounds, active trails, farm animals, and local wildlife, making it a unique environment for safety and customer service.

What You'll Be Doing

Conduct proactive patrols across academic buildings, campus grounds, and surrounding trails.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or completion of Paladin's UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding.

Must not be a current Seneca student at the King Campus.

Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.

Nice-to-Haves

Prior security experience in a post-secondary educational setting or healthcare environment.
