Job summary

Paladin Security in London, Ontario, is seeking a Security Guard to provide a professional front-desk presence, manage access control, and perform routine foot patrols at the Canada Life site.

You will respond to incidents, document them clearly, and coordinate with emergency services when needed, ensuring a safe environment for staff and visitors. Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification and legal authorization to work in Canada are required.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
• College or university education.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act.
• Prior security or related field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional front-desk presence with high-quality customer service.
• Conduct foot patrols across indoor and outdoor areas.
• Manage site access control and enforce safety rules.
• Identify, investigate, and report facility hazards, security breaches, and emergencies.
• Write clear incident reports and conduct initial investigations.
• Coordinate with police, fire, or paramedics during emergencies.
• Handle pressure situations with calm diplomacy.

Pay Rate: $21.52/hr

Schedule: 3-Week Rotating Shift Schedule

Week 1: Sunday (00:00 - 12:00), Monday (00:00 - 08:00), Friday (16:00 - 00:00), Saturday (16:00 - 00:00)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Hours - calculation after 88 hours bi-weekly

Canada Life is a corporate financial and insurance services facility. This site requires a dedicated security presence focused on access control, customer service, and property safety. As a security guard at this location, you will serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk and complete essential foot patrols to maintain a secure environment for corporate personnel and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain a professional front-desk presence while greeting employees, visitors, and contractors with high-quality customer service.
• Conduct foot patrols across assigned indoor and outdoor areas to ensure the security of personnel, facilities, and equipment.
• Manage site access control and enforce corporate safety rules and regulations.
• Identify, investigate, and report facility hazards, security breaches, and emergency situations.
• Write clear, accurate incident reports and conduct initial investigations as needed.
• Contact and coordinate with police, fire, or paramedic services during emergencies.
• Handle pressure situations and unexpected events with calm composure, tact, and diplomacy.

Must Haves

• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
• College or university education.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
