Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a vigilant Security Guard to join our team at a prominent Thunder Bay campus. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour, and opportunities for training and career development.

You will patrol buildings and grounds, assist students and staff, respond to alarms and medical calls, and uphold campus safety rules. Strong English communication, First Aid/CPR Level C, and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Proven customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
• Physical capability to stand and walk for long periods during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, and grounds on foot.
• Assisting students, staff, and visitors with campus inquiries, directions, and safety escorts.
• Responding promptly to alarm calls, calls for service, and medical first-aid situations.
• De-escalating conflict situations using clear, professional communication.
• Writing clear, concise daily logs and detailed incident reports.
• Enforcing site rules, access control policies, and emergency response procedures.

Site Overview

This role is located at a prominent post-secondary educational campus in Thunder Bay. The environment is vibrant, active, and community-focused. You will work alongside a supportive team dedicated to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Patrolling campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, and grounds on foot.
• Assisting students, staff, and visitors with campus inquiries, directions, and safety escorts.

Must Haves

• Valid Ontario Driver's Licence (Class G).
