Paladin Security is seeking a part-time Security Guard for Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington, ON. The role is on-site with a Saturday and Sunday schedule from 07:00 to 19:00, paying CA$20.42 per hour.

Candidates must have college or university education, First Aid & CPR Level C, and relevant certifications or willingness to complete Paladin's training. Responsibilities include patrolling facilities, controlling access, monitoring cameras, and coordinating with staff and local law enforcement.

Qualifications

• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification required or willingness to obtain through Paladin.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsabilités

• Patrol hospital grounds, hallways, patient rooms, parking areas, and entry points to maintain site security.
• Manage access control at entrances and restricted zones.
• Monitor security cameras and alarm systems; report unusual activity.
• Respond to emergencies, security threats, and fire alarms; assist during evacuations.
• De-escalate conflicts and provide patient, visitor, and staff assistance.
• Maintain clear daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and local law enforcement.

Site Overview

Erie Shores Healthcare is a 24/7, 58-bed hospital facility providing essential emergency, surgical, inpatient, and specialist clinic services to the Essex County community. With a steady flow of patients and visitors, this location relies on a strong security presence to safeguard entrances, parking facilities, and high-sensitivity zones such as the Emergency Room and Maternity unit.

What You'll Be Doing

• Patrol hospital grounds, hallways, patient rooms, parking areas, and entry points to maintain site security.
• Manage access control at entrances, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted zones.
• Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, addressing and reporting any unusual activity promptly.
• Respond quickly to emergencies, security threats, and fire alarms, supporting clinical staff during critical events and evacuations.
• De-escalate challenging situations and resolve conflicts professionally and calmly.
• Provide assistance and direction to patients, visitors, and staff while upholding hospital policies.
• Complete clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Work in close coordination with hospital personnel and local law enforcement.

Must Haves

• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor
• College or University education
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's free pre-requisite training program (requires a 6-month commitment)
• Proof of two doses of COVID-19 vaccine
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step TB skin test
• Fluency in English (written and oral)
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
