Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Security Guard for Seneca Polytechnic – York Campus. You will perform proactive patrols, respond to medical and safety incidents, and support residence and event safety while upholding professional customer service standards on a dynamic campus.

We value strong communication, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and eligibility to work in Canada. Certifications in UOF/MOAB can be pursued through Paladin with a commitment to onboarding training.

Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification required or in progress.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor.
• Background in campus, post-secondary, or healthcare security is a plus.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• UOF and MOAB certifications or Paladin certification program offered before onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Proactive patrols across campus buildings and grounds.
• Respond to medical and safety incidents with empathy and professionalism.
• Support residence and events safety.
• Coordinate with municipal and provincial bodies for trail safety.
• Enforce fishing and forestry safety rules.
• Manage lost and found, parking, and access; liaise with emergency responders.

Position: Security Guard

Site: Seneca Polytechnic - York Campus

Averaging Agreement : Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Pay Rate: $20.40 - $21.93 / an hour (based on levelling)

Key Responsibilities

• Proactive patrols across academic buildings and grounds
• Responding to medical and safety incidents with empathy and professionalism
• Supporting residence and community event safety
• Liaising with municipal parks authorities and provincial bodies for maintaining trail safety
• Enforcing fishing and forestry safety.
• Working closely with supervised farm animals, pets and wildlife (beavers, foxes,
• Managing lost and found, parking, and access
• Collaborating with staff and local emergency responders

Qualifications

• Standard First Aid and CPR Level C from a WSIB-approved provider
• Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus demands
• Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience an asset
• Must not be a current Seneca student at York Campus
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
