Job summary

Commissionaires Victoria, The Islands And Yukon is seeking a security professional for the Cowichan Bay site. Responsibilities include access control, customer service, and responding to incidents with calm, safety-first judgment.

You will work various shifts, with training provided. This position requires a BC security worker’s license, English fluency, and the ability to operate basic computer programs. Wages range per hour with benefits and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.

• Report incidents clearly to the site supervisor.

Location: Cowichan Bay (WFP Mill Site)

Wage: $20.50/hr - $21.75hr

Shift Times: Various shifts

Reports to: Client Service Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.
• Provide access control and security patrols as needed.
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary.
• Using mobile phones and basic computer programs.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
• Know occupational health and safety regulations – training provided.
• Perform all duties with high safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Ability to remain alert while on duty.
• Ability to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
• Possess or be willing to obtain a valid BC security worker's license.
• Be comfortable using computers.
• Fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
• Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour.
• Have excellent attention to complete incident report writing.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable handling emergencies in a calm manner – training & support will be provided.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from job site.
