Commissionaires Ottawa Group is seeking security professionals for DND sites on Vancouver Island and in the Yukon region. Starting wage ranges from $20.00/hr to $21.41/hr, with a variety of shifts on multiple sites and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Possess Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Able to stay alert on duty under varying conditions.
• Willing to obtain BC security worker license as required.
• Comfortable using computers and mobile devices.
• Fluent in English (written, verbal, reading).
• Positive, professional demeanor with strong reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the public.
• Perform access control and security patrols as needed.
• Respond proactively to emergencies and conflicts.
• Carry out evacuation and emergency procedures when necessary.
• Operate mobile devices and basic computer programs.
• Report issues to the site supervisor.
• Maintain high safety, multi-tasking and organizational standards.

Location: DND Sites (CFB Esquimalt, CFAD -Rocky Pt , 443 Helicopter Squadron)

Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Starting Wage: $20.00/hr - $21.41/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.
• Provide access control and security foot/mobile patrols as needed.
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary.
• Using mobile phones and basic computer programs.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
• Know occupational health and safety regulations – training provided.
• Perform all duties with high safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Posses a Governmentof Canada secret (level II) security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to remain alert while on duty.
• Ability to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
• Must complete theonline Commissionaire Security Officer Course
• Be willing to obtain a BC security worker's license.
• Be comfortable using computers.
• Fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
• Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour.
• Have excellent attention to complete incident report writing.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
