Eataly Sherway Gardens in Toronto is hiring a Seasonal Prep Cook (Full-Time) to support kitchen operations during peak periods. The role involves preparing ingredients, following recipes, and ensuring high hygiene and portion standards while assisting the Head Chef.

We require at least 1 year of kitchen experience, strong knife skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Onsite work with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work with commercial kitchen equipment including stand mixers, ovens and torches.

Responsabilités

• Washes, peels, slices and mixes vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes, entrees, appetizers and garnishes.
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards and health regulations.
• Cleans utensils, preparation equipment and counters used for production.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Seasonal Prep Cook (Full-Time) - Eataly Sherway Gardens

This is a seasonal position with an expected end date of 01/10/2027.

A Prep Cook prepares a variety of food items and all prepared ingredients that will be distributed to the kitchens to be cooked for restaurants. Reports to the Head Chef.

• Washes, peels, slices and mixes vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes, entrees, appetizers and garnishes
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures and Department of Health regulations
• Cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

• 1+ year of kitchen experience
• Basic math skills
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Compensation

• Compensation for this role is CAD $19.00-$22.00 hourly, plus tips
