Job summary

Eataly Sherway Gardens is seeking a Seasonal Prep Cook to join our team, working full-time in the kitchen. You will prepare ingredients, follow recipes and support the chefs in a fast-paced environment.

This onsite role reports to the Head Chef, requires flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays, and offers CAD 19–22 per hour plus tips. 1+ year of kitchen experience and strong knife skills are valued here.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year of kitchen experience.
• Must hold a valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Washes, peels, slices and mixes vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes, entrees and garnishes.
• Follows recipes and compliance with portion sizes, quality standards and health regulations.
• Cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters used for production.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Seasonal Prep Cook (Full-Time) - Eataly Sherway Gardens

This is a seasonal position with an expected end date of 01/10/2027.

A Prep Cook prepares a variety of food items and all prepared ingredients that will be distributed to the kitchens to be cooked for restaurants. Reports to the Head Chef.

• Washes, peels, slices and mixes vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes, entrees, appetizers and garnishes
• Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures and Department of Health regulations
• Cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

• 1+ year of kitchen experience
• Basic math skills
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

• Must hold a valid Food Handlers Certification
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and exert well-paced mobility
• Ability to spend up to 8 hours standing or walking in a kitchen and restaurant environment
• Ability to work with commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, torches, etc.

Compensation

• Compensation for this role is CAD $19.00-$22.00 hourly, plus tips
