Job summary

AC Marriott Montreal Downtown is seeking a Sales Manager to join the team in Montreal. You will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing and handle in-person and telephone prospecting, market analysis, proposals and contracts, and sales reporting to achieve the hotel’s targets.

Role

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager is primarily responsible for in-person and telephone prospecting, market and target client analysis, preparation of proposals and contracts, development of sales reports, and achieving or exceeding the hotel’s sales objectives.

Responsibilities

Sales Development

• Identify, solicit, and contract new accounts within targeted market segments, particularly corporate and group markets.
• Position and promote the hotel and its services to the target clientele.
• Conduct sales calls and site inspections to establish and maintain long-term business relationships.
• Develop and maintain lasting business relationships with target clients.
• Propose specific marketing actions to support market segments and grow existing accounts in order to meet or exceed sales objectives.
• Analyze supply, demand, and competition to develop sales strategies tailored to different markets.

Representation and Follow-Up

• Participate in trade shows, external client activities, and travel for prospecting as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction throughout the sales process and after contract signing.
• Comply with hotel and RIMAP Hospitality standards.
• Participate in the "Manager on Duty" program.

Education and Experience

• College diploma in hotel management or another related professional field.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Sales Manager in the hotel industry.

Skills and Qualifications

• French and English spoken and written. English is required due to our international clientele. Knowledge of a third language is an asset.
• Proficiency with Delphi and Opera software is an asset.
• Experience with MS Office suite.
• Passionate, enthusiastic, and committed.
• Superior ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts.
• Excellent presentation, clear communication, and strong interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a corporate and diverse clientele.
