Job Summary
The Sales Coordinator is an inside sales professional passionate about selling sports and recreational experiences with a competitive edge. They are responsible for uncovering additional surface sales and booking opportunities through effective management of complex surface flow, including contracts, spot rentals, public programs, third-party tournaments, birthday parties, and corporate events.
This role supports the entire sales and community outreach process: from raising awareness and promoting our products and services to maintaining ongoing communication with customers throughout their engagement.
Accountabilities
Business Goals, Planning, and Work Management
- Support adherence to Canlan's Mission, Vision, Culture, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage and maintain complex operating systems related to Ice Contracts, Spot Rentals, Public Programs, and Tournaments.
- Administer and execute programming, including developing and promoting public programs, managing equipment rentals, creating new tournament and rental opportunities, and developing non-traditional rental options like corporate shoots.
- Retain existing contracts and tournaments, grow surface sales with targets, and manage related contracts and payments.
- Conduct competitor analysis and perform other duties as assigned.
Sales Strategy and Community Outreach
- Assist in developing and executing a proactive sales strategy to maximize revenue through community outreach, internal, and external initiatives.
- Support the creation of the annual sports surface plan to maximize all opportunities.
- Identify and develop new customer relationships to generate revenue and maximize existing accounts.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
- Work as the Manager On Duty on a regular basis.
Customer Relations
- Ensure customers have a best-in-class experience, providing excellent customer care and satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with contract customers for revenue maximization and sustainability.
- Coordinate in-house tournament initiatives and act as the primary contact for third-party events.
Financial and Administrative Management
- Assist in managing contracts and accounts receivable.
- Support regular reporting on performance and strategic recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Relationships and Conflict Management
- Support collaboration with League & Program departments to achieve complex goals.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, marketing, or recreation (asset).
- 1-2 years experience in sports/recreation or inside sales (asset).
- Proven sales closing experience.
- Excellent listening, customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, database management, social media.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexible scheduling including weekends.
