Job summary

Staples Canada in New Minas, NS seeks a Retail Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, assist shoppers with product selection, and support daily store operations for a smooth shopping experience.

Responsibilities include engaging customers, handling POS transactions, maintaining store cleanliness and merchandising standards, and working collaboratively with teammates.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales in the furniture, technology and supplies areas of the store.
• Set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.
• Ensure operational excellence and uphold store brand standards.
• Support all merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.
• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques in our selling model.
• Handle transactions using the POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
