Job summary

Staples Canada is seeking a retail associate to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales across the furniture, technology, and supplies areas of the store in Canada. You will set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders and uphold operational standards.

You will handle POS transactions, keep the store clean, and work with teammates to meet safety and merchandising standards while participating in learning and development programs and enjoying associate discounts.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front‑facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
