Role Context

Reporting to the Director of Safety & Security, the Safety Assurance Project Manager will work within the Design and Systems Integration team of the GO Expansion Program. The role involves leading the implementation of Safety Assurance Requirements across the GO Expansion Early & Complimentary Works to ensure full compliance by all project teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and standardize documentation templates for Safety Assurance deliverables and ensure their dissemination across the program.
  • Manage the production, review, and issuance of Safety Assurance deliverables with the support of safety engineering experts.
  • Investigate safety assurance processes used within the program.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring engineering excellence and satisfactory outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of legacy safety assurance training programs.
  • Coordinate with wider GO Expansion teams to maintain consistency and quality of deliverables.
  • Manage senior client relationships and escalate risks impacting delivery.
  • Promote an inclusive, diverse project environment and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven leadership skills in managing complex, high-risk projects.
  • Experience in systems safety assurance for major railway infrastructure projects.
  • Deep understanding of safety issues in operational and project delivery environments.
  • Degree or equivalent in engineering or project management, with relevant professional experience.
  • Broad experience in Rail Engineering.
  • Familiarity with EN safety and systems engineering standards.
