Job Description

• Tesla’s Optimus team is looking for a Robotics Manufacturing Engineer.
• This role helps drive the development, installation, and ongoing tuning of the manufacturing equipment that makes precision gearbox parts and assemblies.
• In this position you’ll manage the whole equipment lifecycle, push manufacturing efficiency forward, and support automation plans.
• You keep production quality solid, all while working closely with engineering, design, and production groups.

Responsibilities

• Design, define, obtain, and commission manufacturing equipment for gearbox production.
• Set up, connect, and validate manufacturing and assembly equipment for full production use.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) , yield, and throughput performance.
• Create preventive and predictive maintenance programs, like you do not just react after failure, but try to catch issues earlier.
• Build tooling, fixtures, and mistake proofing systems, you know poka-yoke kinda stuff, so the wrong setup becomes hard, or even impossible.

Requirements

• Comfortable around CNC machines, servo and hydraulic presses, robotics, sensors, and automation systems in general.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process validation, plus SPC, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Strong analytical thinking, really good troubleshooting ability, clear communication, and project management, not just technical thinking but keeping things moving.
