Job summary

Tesla Langley, BC is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Line Design, Geartrain to design and launch production lines for geartrain systems. You will work with engineering, manufacturing and infrastructure teams to develop new production systems and help bring new technologies into manufacturing environments.

The role requires 3–7+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, CATIA/Siemens NX), and a focus on layout, ergonomics and safety. Travel approx.

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • Proficiency with layout design software and data review techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material flow, ergonomics and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create 2D/3D production line layouts and floor plans using CAD software.
  • Study material flow with simulation teams and optimize constraints.
  • Install, commission, integrate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
  • Support production line setup including machines, automation systems and tooling.
  • Lead line handover with training, documentation and issue resolution.
  • Develop tools and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Design detailed cells, workstations, storage, and material flow paths.
  • Review layouts for safety, ergonomics and lean standards.
  • Study production data and recommend improvements.

Job Description
  • Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Line Design, Geartrain develops and launches production lines for geartrain manufacturing operations.

  • Prepare detailed drawings and models for fabrication and implementation.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or possess equivalent industry work background with exceptional technical capability.
  • Bring 3 to 7+ years of work background in manufacturing or industrial engineering environments.
  • Be skilled in layout design software, process simulation tools and data review techniques.
  • Show strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material flow, ergonomics and facility safety standards.
  • Possess work background designing production layouts, mechanical equipment, fixtures and tooling.
  • Have knowledge of high speed gantry systems and pick and place conveyor applications.
  • Show understanding of material flow studies and industrial robotic systems used in manufacturing.
  • Be well versed in SolidWorks CAD and PDM software.
  • Can work with CATIA, Siemens NX or similar CAD platforms is considered an asset.
  • Bring work background with automation equipment, CNC machinery, heat treatment systems, assembly equipment and end of line testing equipment.
  • Show that you have strong knowledge in drafting standards
