Tesla’s Langley-based team is hiring a Robotics Manufacturing Engineer to develop and scale precision gearbox manufacturing for the Optimus humanoid robot. You’ll manage equipment lifecycle, drive efficiency, and support automation plans while collaborating with engineering, design, and production teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on setup, validation, maintenance programs, and process improvements to ensure high-quality gearbox parts and assemblies for production.：

Qualifications

• Experience working with manufacturing equipment for gear/parts production.
• Familiarity with CNC, robotics, sensors and automation systems.
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, define, obtain, and commission manufacturing equipment for gearbox production.
• Set up, connect, and validate manufacturing and assembly equipment for full production use.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, and throughput.
• Create preventive and predictive maintenance programs to catch issues early.
• Build tooling, fixtures, and mistake-proofing systems to prevent wrong setups.
