Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical ICU at the Tampa facility. This full-time position involves night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) with every other weekend, in-person duties, and no on-call requirement.

Ideal candidates will hold an RN license with 1 year of ICU experience in acute care, and possess BLS and ACLS certifications. The role supports a compassionate, patient-centered approach within a large hospital network.

Qualifications

• RN license required or eligible for licensure in the state
• 1 year RN experience in the ICU in an acute care setting
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or expected

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the ICU using the nursing process
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities
• Care for patient needs throughout recovery in critical care
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
