Job summary

Capilano Group in North Vancouver is seeking a friendly Restaurant Host or Hostess to welcome guests and set the tone for an exceptional visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.

You’ll take reservations, seat guests, assist the serving team, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining area while promoting the Capilano Group of Companies. Shifts include evenings and weekends with great employee discounts and benefits.

Qualifications

• Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Excellent people skills with a positive, upbeat attitude are required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs and climb a ladder.
• Evening, weekend and holiday availability is needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile.
• Accurately take guest reservations and seat guests following section rotation.
• Assist serving team by taking drink orders and running food when needed.
• Maintain glassware and cutlery.
• Clean floors, walls, counters, windows and equipment in restaurant and service areas.
• Follow all procedures in the Team Member Handbook and promote Capilano Group.

What You’ll Do

• Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile
• Accurately take Guest reservations and seat guests following section rotation
• Assist serving team, when necessary, by taking drink orders and running food
• Maintain glassware and cutlery
• Clean floors, walls, counters, windows and equipment in restaurant and service areas
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
• Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
• Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
• Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
• Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes

Compensation for this position is $18.25 per hour.
