Job summary

Metro Vancouver Housing seeks a Property Maintenance Assistant to support the South West Area portfolio, ensuring apartments and townhomes are well maintained. You will coordinate repairs, manage contractors, and contribute to preventative maintenance with strong organization and communications.

You will inspect units, supervise trades, perform routine repairs, and assist caretaking staff. A Grade 12 and a journeyman certificate in building technology are required, with at least 5 years in

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of building technologies and maintenance practices.
• Ability to assess quality of work by independent trades or contractors.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out unit and property inspections and complete reports.
• Inspect and service equipment and supervise outside trades as assigned.
• Perform direct maintenance repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
• Support caretaking staff for minor maintenance tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
