Metro Vancouver is seeking a Property Maintenance Assistant to support the South West Area team in maintaining a portfolio of residential rental properties, coordinating repairs and managing contractors to keep properties in good condition.
The role requires Grade 12, formal building technology training, and at least 5 years in property/maintenance work, plus strong communication and customer service skills. This full-time temporary position runs through February 28, 2027.

The additional 6.25% can be taken as compensation or time off.The Housing Department seeks a Property Maintenance Assistant to work collaboratively with the South West Area team in the maintenance and operation of a portfolio of residential rental properties, including apartment and townhouse communities. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating repairs, managing contractors, supporting preventative maintenance initiatives, and ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard. This position requires strong organizational, technical, and communication skills, as well as a commitment to meeting the needs of tenants in a professional and timely manner. You have a solid understanding of building technologies and maintenance practices, are self-motivated and organized, and can work both independently and within a team environment. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to respond to tenant needs in a respectful, professional, and timely manner.
