Job summary

BC Housing in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform general and emergency maintenance and repairs on Commission-owned properties. The successful candidate will handle electrical, plumbing, carpentry tasks and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Criminal record search clearance required.
• Class 5 driver's licence and satisfactory driving record.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs general and emergency maintenance and repair duties for Commission-owned properties.
• Troubleshoots and conducts electrical repairs and maintenance such as repairing/replacing damaged wires and fixtures.
• Repairs plumbing fixtures and hardware including toilets, sinks, and water lines under two inches.
• Carpentry repairs such as replacing countertops, doors, locks, and related fixtures.
• Performs exterior upkeep including gutters, roofs, and caulking; maintains equipment and inventory.
• Operates employer vehicle to load, unload, and deliver materials and tools.
• Responds to emergencies when Building Manager is not on site and coordinates with emergency services.
