Job summary

AgeCare Ballycliffe in Ajax, Ontario is seeking a Recreation Worker (Part-time) to plan, develop and run meaningful recreation activities for residents. You will foster wellbeing, creativity and social connections, both in-house and with the community, while supporting family and volunteer relationships.

The role requires prior experience with seniors, a related post-secondary diploma/degree, and enrollment in a related program or health-care field.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with seniors, preferably in long-term care.
• Diploma/degree in recreation and leisure studies or therapeutic recreation.
• Enrolled in related program with intent to complete within 3 years.
• Health-care related degree/diploma with recreation skills and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and runs recreation and leisure activities.
• Supports resident engagement and well-being.
• Observes and reports changes in residents’ ability to participate.
• Maintains spaces that support meaningful resident activity.
