Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is building a scalable Kubernetes-driven compute platform in Canada. You will architect and evolve the EKS stack, drive cluster provisioning and upgrades, and own reliability of shared components and CI/CD pipelines.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to policy-driven enforcement and observability. This remote-first role aligns with Ontario-based priorities and growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or infrastructure engineering.
• 6+ years hands-on operating production Kubernetes at scale (AWS EKS).
• Strong cloud-native architecture experience on AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS).
• Experience with Terraform, Spacelift and GitOps-style deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve EKS platform across cluster lifecycle and node management.
• Lead provisioning, upgrades, and teardown through IaC and self-service workflows.
• Own reliability of shared components and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define workload safety standards and policy-driven enforcement.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations.
