Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a software engineer to join the EKS Control Plane team. You will help manage the global EKS fleet, shaping the path from customer intent to running clusters and ensuring reliability at scale.

This role involves on-call rotation roughly every two months, solving complex distributed systems challenges, and collaborating with world‑class engineers to deliver robust, scalable Kubernetes services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and influence strategies to delight customers.
• Solve challenging distributed systems problems at scale.
• This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months.
