Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Safety Manager with extensive mining experience to lead health and safety programs in a remote-first environment. You will develop, implement, and oversee programs to protect workers, contractors, and the environment, driving a proactive safety culture across sites.

The role requires 10+ years in HSE management, a relevant degree, and advanced certifications such as NEBOSH. You will ensure regulatory compliance, lead investigations, and liaise with regulators while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Mining Engineering required.
• NEBOSH or similar advanced safety certifications desirable.
• 10+ years of progressive health and safety management, with mining focus.
• Experience implementing safety management systems (ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001).
• Strong leadership and remote-work capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health and safety management systems for mining operations.
• Conduct audits, risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, determining root causes and corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training for all personnel levels.
• Liaise with regulators to ensure adherence to national and international safety standards.
