Job summary

Agrégat RN is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to structure, support, and advance health and safety practices across Ontario and Quebec operations. The role reports to general management and collaborates with operations, site teams, supervisors, and HR to embed H&S as a daily practice.

The position requires travel to multiple sites, strong regulatory knowledge, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement in field environments. English/French bilingualism is valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Ontario health and safety requirements in mining or heavy industry.
• Experience auditing, incident investigations, risk management, and training.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical workplace practices.
• Strong leadership with field-focused, solutions-oriented approach.
• French and English bilingualism is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with Quebec and Ontario health and safety regulations, with emphasis on Ontario mining sector.
• Support managers and supervisors in applying effective prevention and safety practices.
• Conduct or coordinate inspections, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Manage follow-up of incidents, near misses, workplace accidents, investigations, and corrective measures.
• Oversee training records, certifications, work permits, site access, and client compliance requirements.
• Support H&S onboarding of new employees with Human Resources.
• Maintain regular presence at operational sites and with field teams.
• Monitor health and safety performance indicators and recommend improvements.
• Represent Agrégat with clients, partners, committees, and events related to health and safety.
