Job summary

Northback Holdings Corporation, based in Canada, seeks a Site Safety Manager to lead safety and security on a major Crowsnest Pass project. The role reports to the VP Technical Services and oversees a safety team, contractors, and budget related to safety operations in a mining environment.

The candidate will manage incident investigations, update emergency plans, and ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S laws while coordinating with land and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• 10+ years of safety-related work in heavy construction/mining.
• Experience managing site safety on large projects.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta OH&S and mine safety rules.
• Proven ability to implement safety systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day safety and security operations on site.
• Maintain and improve Emergency Response and Crisis Plans.
• Administer incident investigations and training programs.
• Oversee Safety & Health Management System improvements.
• Support other functions on health, safety and security tasks.
• Oversee land access and liaise with stakeholders per plans.
• Ensure compliance with road use and land disposition agreements.
• Manage budgets and schedules for contractors and assets.
• Monitor KPIs, monthly accruals, and budget forecasting.
