Job description

The HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of all safety programs and initiatives on active mining projects. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day safety of personnel and operations, with an emphasis on safety preparedness, hazard identification, incident prevention, mine rescue,and worker training.

FIFO - 2/2 rotation

Responsibilities

Field Safety Support

• Provide visible, on-the-ground safety presence in surface areas of the site.
• Conduct safety observations, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with site safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Support supervisors and field crews in identifying and mitigating risks during daily operations.

Worker Orientation & Training

• Deliver and track site-specific safety orientations for all personnel and contractors.
• Support the development and facilitation of toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing worker training sessions.
• Monitor competency records and assist with training documentation and verification.

Incident & Hazard Management

• Support incident investigations and participate in root cause analysis using ICAM or equivalent methods.
• Record, track, and follow up on hazard reports and corrective actions to ensure timely closeout.

Safety Systems & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation including inspections, permits, and training records.
• Support preparation of daily and weekly safety reports for internal and client distribution.
• Assist with digital safety system inputs (e.g., SiteDocs, Intelex, or company-specific platforms).

Regulatory Compliance

• Support site compliance with occupational health & safety regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory inspectors when required
