Job summary

1Password is seeking a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead the roadmap, architecture, and team that power trusted data foundations across the business. You will shape how data is modeled, tested, documented, governed, and made available to Marketing, Finance, Product, Analytics, and Data Engineering, with hands-on engagement where it matters.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture, including team leadership.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience with advanced data modeling, incremental processing, testing, and multi-environment deployment.
• Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball/star schema) in complex B2B SaaS environments.
• Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery/Redshift) and cost/speed trade-offs.
• Experience establishing semantic layer strategies and trusted metric definitions across an organization.
• Ability to translate business priorities into a data platform roadmap and communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: CI/CD, orchestration (Airflow/Dagster/Prefect), and AI-assisted analytics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for analytics engineering, including data models, semantic layers, BI tooling, and pipelines.
• Hire, manage, and develop analytics engineers with clear career ladders and performance practices.
• Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, and data quality.
• Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL, and troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues.
• Serve as a senior technical partner on data modeling and metric governance across the organization.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM leaders to turn business needs into a roadmap.
• Build governed, reliable data foundations to support AI initiatives and Generative BI.
