Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide to support residents in achieving mobility and functional goals by applying individualized treatment plans and exercises. You will work under the physiotherapist, monitor progress, and assist with ongoing evaluations to promote independence and well-being.

Responsibilities include implementing rehab programs, documenting changes, guiding residents and families, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring safety and infection-control standards are met as

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized recreation therapy or rehabilitation assistant program.
• Experience as a rehabilitation aide is an asset.
• Experience in a residential care or mental health environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, exercise programs, mobility support, and safe transfer practices is required.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Supports residents in rehabilitation by implementing treatment plans and exercises.
• Assists physiotherapist with mobility, activities of daily living, and therapy activities.
• Observes and reports changes in resident condition to the care team.
• Demonstrates proper rehabilitation techniques to residents, families, and staff.
• Coordinates equipment repairs, trials, and vendor modifications with input from residents and families.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, and supports routine assessments and conferences.
